Shaping the Future of Special Libraries Beyond Boundaries Engelska 2009

Special libraries are facing increasing challenges today. The biggest challenge before them is how to demonstrate that they are the best source of specialized information despite reliance on the Web for information. Special libraries therefore need to change in terms of their collections, roles, services, and evolve strategies for managing the change. Shaping the Future of Libraries: Beyond Boundaries is a collection of papers that provides directions in which special libraries should grow and shape their future. The papers in this book were presented at the International Conference of Asian Special Libraries ICoASL 2008. The book should of interest to all those who are interested in addressing special library issues such as information resources and services, networking and resource sharing, media and digital library, knowledge management, bibliographic databases, institutional repositories, content preservation, information marketing, copyright and IPR issues, and above all web 2 technologies.
