The closest your child will get to the original text by Valmiki There have been many children's tellings of the Ramayana but none that has been so faithful to Valmiki's original. Arshia Sattar, the best-known translator of Valmiki's Ramayana, distils thirty years of working with the great classic into a magical children's edition. Sattar's narrative is magical. Her characters come alive in one's imagination and on the pages with Zohra's gorgeous centrefold illustrations Scroll Sattar rewrites the story retaining its essence Asian Review of Books
