About Author : R. Sooryamoorthy is senior lecturer in the Post-Graduate Department of Sociology at Loyola College of Social Sciences, Thiruvanthapuram. He is the co-author of Science in Participatory Development and author of Consumption to Consumerism, and Climbing Up: The Stody of Palyrah Workers' Development Society. K.D. Gangrade is the Vice-Chairman of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, New Delhi. Earlier, he was the Dean, Faculty of Social Work, Delhi University and Pro-Vice Chancellor of Delhi University. His books include Community Organization in India, Social Legislation in India, and Gandhian Ideal Development and Social Change. He has also served as the head of the UN's Social Services Division.
