As the former Chief of Intelligence Bureau of India, the author uses his past experience within his writing. He looks at the challenges that India's intelligence community faces from new forms of terrorism, domestic "fault lines" and other threats arising out of the unipolar world. This book provides an account of the principles and methodology of Intelligence practised in democratic governance. The author recommends administrative and attitudinal improvements, which he believes, are needed to upgrade the function of intelligence and give it the right place that it should have in the national strategic framework. He looks into the future where he believes the world is transiting to the Age of Intelligence in which far greater demands would be made on Nations, Corporations and individuals wanting to gain and retain a competitive edge.
