This book, a reprint of the 1894 classic, is a rare collection of Punjabi folk tales. It is an attempt to translate one colloquialism to another, thereby preserving the fragrance of ready wit and the element of human value typical in these stories. The author of the monumental "Legends of the Punjab", R.C. Temple, has annotated the volume. The text holds an immense interest for children, while the notes render a valuable service to students of folklore.
