Dr. V. Gouri Suresh grew up listening to stories from the epics and the puraanaas from her parents and grand parents. These were etched permanently in her mind. This must have been the reason for her love of ancient Indian classics in later years. Dr. Gouri Suresh has brought out in this book stories from the Bhagavath Puraana for the benefit of all, especially children. The style is as if she is addressing the readers directly. She has also given her own explanations and opinions at certain points in the narrative. These may provide some insights into the places, characters, customs, incidents etc. described in the book.
