The technology underlying Organizational Engineering combines information processing theory and sociology, rather than psychology. Information processing theory allows probable behavior to be estimated with a high degree of specificity sociology - the science of group behavior - is used to provide tools that allow the behaviors to be guided in the desired direction. The process is done with the active participation and concurrence of the groups involved.
