Mechanical Measurements English 2009

The book deals with "Mechanical Measurements", a subject that is taught to students of B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering. The book will also be of relevance to anyone who wants to learn something about ?Measurements?. The topics covered are in five modules that may be covered in a semester, with the following proviso. Module I deals with the basics of measurements without reference to any particular field and hence is to be dealt with at the beginning. Chapters 4, 6 and 13 deal with basic quantities that interest all engineers and should be included in any course on ?Mechanical Measurements?. Parts of other chapters may be included to suit the requirements of a particular class. The book may also be useful to practicing engineers who want to refresh their knowledge of measurements. The material of the book is based on the notes prepared for a course taught by the author at IIT Madras for more than 20 years.
