He holds three degrees from Annamalai University M.A. (History) (1969)-Ph.D., (Modern India) and D.Litt., (Human Rights, International Law and Organizations), and M.A. Political Science from Sri Venkateswara University. He was awarded a distinguished D.Litt. Degree for his Classic thesis: "Human Rights Complaints Systems: Internatioanl and Regional which set a new standard for the study of systems.
