Autumn Blossoms English 2023

This definitive edition brings together all the short stories Gajra Kottary has written in one comprehensive volume. A keen observer of the minutiae of everyday life, she infuses these stories with an uncanny understanding of the feminine psyche in the three sections the stories are divided into – the complicated aspects of a woman’s relationship with a man, the shades of grey that mark interactions between women, and the self-reflective bond a woman has with her own self. Always engaging and heartfelt, delightfully unpredictable, often laced with a sense of wicked humour, these 50 stories provide a fascinating portrait of urban women and their predicaments in contemporary India and an insight into the work of one of the country’s finest authors writing in English.
