Hertha Hillfon Swedish 2021

Hertha Hillfon (1921-2013) var Sveriges främsta keramiska skulptör under 1900-talet. Hennes arbete spände från det abstrakta till det föreställande, från utlevande och dramatiska kompositioner till enkla och vardagliga motiv. Tidningsreportage, tv-program och ett stort antal verk i offentlig miljö gjorde henne välkänd och folkkär. Den här boken presenterar hennes arbete genom konsthistoriska essäer och intervjuer med människor som stod henne nära. Boken innehåller också ett rikt och tidigare delvis opublicerat bildmaterial. Boken har parallelltext på svenska och engelska. Hertha Hillfon (1921-2013) was Sweden’s leading ceramic sculptor of the 20th century. Her work ranged from abstract to figurative and from dramatically ebullient compositions to simple, domestic motifs. Frequent newspaper reports, TV programmes and a large number of works in the public domain led to her becoming both well-known and popular. In this book she is presented by critical essays as well as interviews with people close to her. The book is richly illustrated, partly with hitherto unpublished photographs.
