“Divan of Bidel Dehlavi” is a collection of poetry by Abu al-Ma‘ani Mirza Abdul-Qader Bidel Dehlavi, one of the greatest Persian-language poets of the Indian style (Sabk-e Hendi). Bidel (1054–1133 AH) holds a distinctive place in the history of Persian poetry through his language rich in imagination, mystical reflections, complex metaphors, and innovative themes.

Born in Patna, India, Bidel spent most of his life in Shahjahanabad (Delhi). His works, both poetry and prose, represent outstanding examples of the Indian style of Persian literature, a tradition characterized by subtle intellectual expression, intricate imagery, the discovery of new relationships between concepts, and profound mystical contemplation.
