A Pinch of this, A Handful of that is a celebration of well-known food writer Rushina Munshaw-Ghildiyal's coming of age in the kitchen and the many culinary influences that have moulded her into the cook she is now. Offering a smorgasbord of her favorite foods, it begins with a memoir of her growing years and the early influences on her palate and goes on to explore recipes she encountered from the various people she's met. The book is a food diary with lots of fabulous recipes and the stories behind them. It includes popular and lesser-known dishes, as well as her own creations Gujarati Undhiyu, Sindhi Kadhi, Curry Leaf Fish, Goan Sausage Pulao, Clove-Scented Lamb in Red Wine and Chindian Manchurian that cross barriers of community and region to become part of the colourful whole that is Rushina's kitchen.
