From 'Mora gora ang lai le', his first film lyric written for Bimal Roy's Bandini (1963), to the poignant 'Lagta hai woh zinda hai' from Talvar (2015), Gulzar has brought a rare poetic sensibility to popular Hindi film music. The lyrics in these two companion volumes - handpicked by Gulzar himself and luminously translated by Sunjoy Shekhar - represent the very best of Gulzar's marvellous artistic work. In addition, the two books include some brilliant lyrics written for non-film albums. Complete with anecdotes.
