The Media for Democracy Monitor intends to provide empirical evidence on the fulfillment of the role of the media for each participating democratic country. Based on the insight that different models of democracy demand similar services from the media and based on a consistent understanding of the role of the media, the following considerations define the analytical framework of the Media for Democracy Monitor.
