The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Jumped Out of the Window and Disappeared is a comedy novel written by Jonas Jonassen, first published in 2009. After living a long and adventurous life, Alan Carlsen now lives in a hospice and believes that this is his last stop. The only problem is that he is in good health and will be a hundred years old in one day. There is going to be a big party for Alan, but he is not at all interested in the party and would rather be able to control his excessive drinking a little. That's why Alan decides to run away. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a very funny and unexpected journey full of strange surprises: a suitcase full of money, some nerve-racking criminals, a good-natured salesman and of course an elephant!
